AHHH!!!!

I received news I did NOT want to hear at evening services tonight. The triplets will NOT be allowed to go to bible class in September when the new quarter begins. I was REALLY looking foward to this! At church, the rule is that when your child turns one they can attend the baby class. The triplets turn one on Sep. 9th... and technically children are not supposed to move up into their new age level until the quarter after they turn that age. So "technically" they're supposed to go in Dec. We missed the cut off by 9 days!!!! But that's not the real reason why they can't go... we literally have NO room for them!

There are 10 regulary attending babies and 8 seats (they added in two more seats). There is another baby born Sept. 4th who is also being told can't go. Our teachers and helpers can not properly teach 10+ babies and give them the attention they need... so, we must wait until December. BOO! We started Johnny at 8 months, but the class size was much smaller then. Kleinwood had gone through an amazing baby boom recently (thanks to me!) ... oh and they can't make another class b/c we would have to double up on everything and this boom will be taken care of in December after some other children move up to the two year old class... they've thought through every possibility and this is the only way.

Our annual congregational singing is next Friday (Aug. 7th). I'm excited. Our building holds 700, last year we piled 1300+ ... it's so amazing to hear 1300+ people sing praises to God. If you're in the area, do come... but warning, get here at least 1 hr early!

Here's my new "do"... Thanks Amy!!!!... I really am going to try to keep this up :-)

That stinks about the triplets not getting to go! We just recently had to stop the baby class because our teacher's husband accepted a preaching job at another congregation so of course the family isn't with us anymore. We're a small congregation and there just aren't any more teachers. But one of the older women takes Henry so I can teach the toddlers (and James teaches the adult class). But what a great reason for you guys to have to wait- too many babies!
    And your hair looks great!

Love the haircut. That stinks about the class! our class doesn't start until 18 months, when she was younger some days i wished it started earlier.

I LOVE your hair!!! it is WAY CUTE!!!!!!! i bet it is nice and cool on these hot summer days! do you like your new "do"? i had to wait til my kids were 2 to send them to bible class because we don't have a baby class. i would love to start one here (i would even teach it!), but i don't think we have the room. i guess it wouldn't hurt to ask the elders about it. we have lots of babies too! i think we had 6 born in one season! insane! anyway! love the "do"! take care!

So, you have to juggle 3 babies in an adult class? Wow, that's tough. Kacey's one is beginning to be a challenge to keep quiet for adult class time.

The hair looks perfect on you and appears to be simple for a busy mom!

Love your hair! Cute! That really stinks about the bible class situation. I'm sorry they can figure out a better solution! Guess I shouldn't plan on leaving Kate in class when we visit either. Alex is such a cutie in that picture.

Hi. I saw your post about the 1 year old class and was just wondering if there was any room in the 2 year old class to move a few children up early. I know you said they had thought of everything, but it was just something I wanted to make sure they had thought of...for your sake! Of course I know it depends on how close to 2 some of the children might be, but it was just a thought! I attend Temple Terrace and we have had the same issue in the past. We actually have 2 tables (16 seats) in our 1 year old class, but it is difficult for the teacher and her helpers to actually teach that many children. So, they have allowed a couple of children to move into the 2 year old class that had birthdays soon into the new quarter. Just a thought! =)

Hi, I saw your question on sassysarah's blog and came here to see if she answered it, which led me read your post. What a wonderful problem for a congregation to have!!! I remember a few months when we had NO babies in class or on the horizon and it had me so worried. Trying to keep three babies quiet must be extremely hard, but like you told her, time goes fast. Ten years from now is it going to be a big deal that they got into Bible class a couple months later than some others? Around here 18 months seems to be the norm.

Hey, I'm Michelle. I'm just roaming pleo and read your post. Church classes for our little ones are awesome and I can understand your disappointment since many churches also seem to be limited in the number they can accept. I was lucky enough to get my 4yr into Rainbow Days Catholic Preschool this year and afford tuition.

Wednesdays and Johnny

Johnny doesn't take naps anymore... so when Bible class is over and we're listening to the five minute invitation, he has a hard time staying awake. Tonight he fell asleep with his feet on the floor and torso on the pew. Darla was kind enough to take a picture with her cell phone and email it to me...

My brother tried to stand him up to talk to him, and he remained asleep while standing... my brother told me that's an extraordinary gift. When Johnny is asleep, he's asleep!

Brian, our youngest, always went to sleep in the devo period that we used to have BEFORE classes when he started Kindergarten. His attendance chart looked like we were neglecting bringing our kids for services on Wed.! He just couldn't stay awake with no nap and a full day at school. Wish I had taken a picture, but I have it in my memory. We finally started putting sleep friendly clothes on him so we could just take him home and put him into bed .

Haha! How cute! My mom said I did this when I was about Johnny's age. She came in to check on me after we went to bed and I was standing up next to my bed with my head on my bed fast asleep. Jamie and I shared a room and she suspected that I had been up out of bed talking to Jamie and couldn't make it back to my bed before falling asleep. I've never been a light sleeper, I'm guessing Johnny won't be either! ;)

It's a really good DVD. I don't even mind it that they watch it every day! The songs are fun and the girls like for me to sing them when they are sitting on the potty. It's very entertaining. With twins, I did CIO all the time. With Statler it's different somehow. Maybe because he's my boy. Maybe because he's the baby. Who knows? He also doesn't take a paci (I tired. He gagged on every single kind.) and wouldn't be swaddled as an infant, so I feel like I really owe it to him to try to help him get to sleep since he has nothing else that calms him down. I think I'm mainly just a sucker for him. ;)

Yeah, my brother said that he was at a friend's house and they let a Kirby salesman in just the other day. The guy stayed THREE HOURS, just like you said. That is outrageous.

Ha! Didn't mean to scare you. I've just had to have help, there's no way around it for me. Today Paige went with Mom to her house and Cara and Statler stayed home with me. I've got to have some time during the day to focus on training them one at a time. If my mom didn't live close by, I would have people from church rotate in and out to help me throughout the day. I have a feeling that the bad stuff is really only going to last a week. They are surprising me by how well they're actually doing. And I've had to keep reminding myself that my expectations of them are usually too high and I need to back off a bit on this one.
