Texas ...

Here we come! Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wrinkles

Here's the quote from one of my flip calendars this morning. It tickled me. :)

"If God had to give a woman wrinkles, He might at least have put them on the soles of her feet." (Ninon De Lenclos)

That's funny because I think I do have some feet wrinkles, don't you?!

Oh ... I'm almost not cold anymore ... it's to be 63 degrees here in MI today. Short lived, I'm afraid, since the forecast for Sat/Sun is rain/snow showers. Well, it is MI ... and it is trying to be spring. The robins are here, and the snow piles have melted away, and the Saginaw River is flowing again (no more ice fishermen on it) and ... I saw crocuses in a friend's yard ... beautiful purple color. I like spring.

Soon, Lord willing, we depart for Texas for the arrival of Baby Raif! This brings joy upon joy. If we could just somehow KNOW the day Baby wants to make his/her appearance it would be so much easier to plan. Especially since we can't be gone for a month this trip. Please, Baby, give Grandmarmee a hint ... at least 48 hours ahead of time??!! We just might make it then!

Blessings to you this week ... I'm having a wonderful one. My dh brought me red carnations in a red vase this morning ... just because. I spell that LOVE, wouldn't you??!!

    Flowers surely spell love! So sweet of him! My dh didn't GIVE me flowers today, but he gave me a budge to BUY flowers, so that's pretty much love in my book too! :-) I'll send pictures tomorrow if I can!

Time To Be

Today's calendar wisdom was this:

"We need time to dream, time to remember, and time to reach the infinite.

Time to be."
(Gladys Taber)

It made me think of this:

"To everything there is a season, a time for ever purpose under heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die;
A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain and a time to lose;
A time to keep, and a time to throw away;
A time to tear, and a time to sew;
A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate;
A time of war, and a time of peace." (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8)

It's a blessed thing to be able to think biblically when we read something or think on something. I'm trying to be more aware of this, as well as more aware of my speech being of God.

Just taking time to be ... and think ... and ponder ... all that my Lord and Savior has done for me.

Enjoy your week!

Daylight Savings ...

Don't forget to set your clocks * ahead * one hour when you go to bed tonight! If you forget, you'll be late to your assembly with your brethren in the morning.

I know. We did that once. And we were visiting somewhere ... and they knew we were coming ... oops! They knew what happened. We didn't until they told us!!!!!!!!!

What can I say? We'd been traveling ... who looks at the calendar when you're driving all over the place? And you've lived overseas recently where they don't do daylight savings.

Is that an excuse? Looks like one to me. Good one? Yup.

One can't know everything all of the time. :)

    I always do the kitchen clocks at dinner time. I'm not a big daylight savings fan...but I suppose I can't make my own time now can I?
    I feel like I get less rest during daylight savings time ;) ... Maybe it is psychological!

    Thank you so much for your sweet comment about Hannah's article. I hesitated to share it--but was them emboldened when I thought of a few who would give good feedback--you were one of the ones I knew I could count on!

    I did EVERYTHING right to prepare for Daylight Savings and I put my children to bed by 7 (old time), which was 8 new time. STILL, though, STILL it was like the witching hour during our assembly. Sigh. Tonight will be easier. :)

Tears

"Tears are the safety valve of the heart when too much pressure is laid on it." (Albert Smith)

This was my calendar wisdom this morning. I often tell people that tears are the safety valve of the heart. I think I read it somewhere. :)

Have you ever noticed that the valve works when we have too much happy pressure, as well as when we have too much sad pressure? I've noticed that. This week my safety valve has worked in both ways. I've had happy pressure at the good news of a beautiful engagement and I've had sad pressure at the news of a special friend who's had a cancer diagnosis. In neither case did I let the tears flow, but I still felt the pressure.

I am so thankful to a God who gives us safety valves. He is our strong tower, our shield, our defender ... our safety. Our Rock and our salvation. Amen.

Have a blessed weekend.
