most of my future posts will probably be lots of pictures of lana because right now i'm not working and this is all i do, unless you all want the titillating details of me cleaning my house or doing laundry. she's getting so big, i can't believe she's already six weeks :) in a couple of weeks, we're taking our first family vacation up to gatlinburg for a week. i'm trying to get up to tennessee before my maternity leave is up and then i won't be able to take a vacation for a long time.
so far, my baby girl is six and a half weeks old and she has been to the mall several times, been to a bridal shower, two weddings (well, the 2nd is on saturday), the beach and to disney...and she seems to hold up pretty well, which is good, cuz she'll be a travelin' baby...her momma can't seem to sit still for too long.

well, here she is! finally! only 9 days late...Born August 11 at 5:34. 20 inches and 8 lbs 4 oz and i think she's the most beautiful baby i've ever seen :) things are going really well and we're finally getting some sort of routine worked on (not perfect yet, but better) sorry it took me forever to post, but we've had lots of visitors and have been to the doctor like every day because she was a little jaundiced. but she's finally better! yay! she had to be stuck so many times her little feet look like pin cushions :( she sleeps wonderfully and only cries when she's hungry or having her clothes changed, other than that, she's a perfectly content baby! i can post more later, but for now, she's sleeping and i have time to take a shower! yay!

so this is our beautiful nursery and my big fat belly :) dustin is coming over to paint storybook characters on the walls later, but for now, i'm happy with the way it looks. and a couple more bookshelves are coming in, whenever they get finished being painted...but since she'll be pretty nearsighted when she gets here for awhile, i don't think she's going to notice that there's a small pile of books behind the rocking chair.
well, i guess i can be happy that at least i've dialated a centimeter...but i've been that much for like a month and a half, so that's like nothing to me...like a size of a grape...and my girl is like the size of a watermelon...i shudder to think what i need to do in a week (give or take). oh well, it will totally be worth it. and when she gets here, i'll post stats and her name of course (which i'm not telling anyone until she's here...and yes, joey does know, he approved it.)

and still nothing. no dialation. no effacement. no dropping. no inkling that she's remotely ready to get out. so for all hopes of the full moon last night having some effect on her were null. oh well. gives me some time to finish up some things around here.
just figured i'd let people know what was up.
ok, joey just got a call from best buy where he could potentially be working for the geek squad and a couple of weeks ago, he got his scores back from the post office exam and he did really well on them, so if we could get some prayers that either one of these two jobs will pan out, it would be much appreciated. he's been trying really hard to find something new (something that pays more, has benefits and doesn't send him home every time it rains because the paint won't dry) and he's been really stressed. hopefully if he lands one of these two jobs, he'll start sleeping again :)

i have reached that last and final phase of the pregnancy...the one where i'm stinking sweating all the time, hungry half the time, crabby most of the time and tired. its times like this that i believe every pregnant woman wishes they could go back in time and find eve and take whatever fruit she wasn't supposed to eat and pelt it at her head. but other than that, i'm good :) for all those of you who would like to have kids let me remind you that while in the winter it may sound good to have a baby, remember that nine months later puts you into the middle of the very hot summer (especially in florida...i think my car temp registered at 103 today). but anyways, baby is doing good, but still hasn't come yet, and as of this saturday, she'll be ok to come anytime, cuz her little lungs will be finished.
in other news, went to the bank to deposit some very generous checks people have been giving us only to find out that my account is not even remotely close to what my balance ledger says (and i'm an avid checkbook balancer, cuz i forgot my online password); so needless to say, i'm sort of freaking out thinking that someone stole all of my money. so i get to go up to the bank and check that out tomorrow. hopefully they'll have pity on a pathetically huge overemotional pregnant woman who's fixing to go on maternity leave and needs to know that she has money in the bank to cover the cost of diapers.
hopefully the next post will be more positive...like maybe my stomach muscles won't be lugging around a heavy baby and i get to see my pretty girl's face :)
**update on the banking thing: ok so i'm an idiot who, although i balance my checkbook regularly, i don't always go in the correct date order, which can really mess with the balance that you think you have...especially when a check bounces and then they nail you 4 times in one day for overdraft fees...it just happened to be grocery day :( oh well, i got it fixed and now have overdraft protection :) and they gave me some of my money back since i've never ever overdrafted before...it sucks being poor.
