What Can I Do?

Okay, I've been working on coming up with a list of all the things I can do to fill my free time once Reegan starts school. Y'all help me decide.

1. Make more glass stuff (I've recently learned to fuse glass--lots of fun)

2. Clean house more often (Yeah right)

3. Learn new recipes (Yeah right)

4. Install new flooring down stairs

5. Anything and everything else that needs to be remodeled in our house

6. Take naps

7. Go to the movies to watch something that isn't disney

8. Have a party

9. Sit in silence

10. Read a book (once again--not disney)

11. Scan our wedding pictures to save to the computer (I've said I'm going to do this for a long time now)

12. Play with my nephew (Nathan and Katie are having a little boy!!! Yay!!!)

OR.................... Should I.....

TAKE CARE OF OUR NEW LITTLE BABY!!!!!!!!

YUP, I'M PREGNANT!!!!!!!!!!

There is a famous Baby Blues cartoon, where Wanda, sitting on a park bench while Zoe and Hammy are playing on the playscape with another obviously-older little girl, comments to the girl's mother, "Oh, I'm so ready for the children to go to school so I can get some free time." The mother gives Wanda an incredulous glance, then falls down on the ground laughing hysterically. Wanda mutters to herself, "Uh. Oh." It is so true! You get caught up volunteering in the classroom, doing stuff around the school, doing stuff for the congregation, and helping out that suddenly all your time is taken up. But it is SO much fun to volunteer and be able to do so much. I only got one year of kids all in school and me not having to work, but I sure enjoyed it. I was not bored a single moment.

  • nolongerwise
Yeah, I'm sure I won't get bored too often!

I'm glad you're going to have free time. I had trouble letting the kids go and volunteered in the school so I could see what was happening behind the scenes. The hardest part was getting organized and getting them up and out the door in time for the bus. I don't think you will have any trouble finding things to do, you're creative.

While walking into world mArket, Reegan noticed a birds nest in the top portion of the A on the sign. So very loudly she screamed..Look at the birds nest in that big A hole. I thought the lady in front of us was gonna pee her pants

Santa

We always told Reegan that Santa wasn't Really real, just something fun to pretend. I reminded her at the beginning of the season not to tell any other kids that Santa isn't real. She told me that she wanted to believe in Santa this year. So we've been playing along. I asked Reegan if she wanted to make cookies to set out for Santa. She answered, "He'll LOVE that!"

She really meant it when she said she was going to believe in Santa this year! She's truly convinced herself!

Hope y'all have a wonderful holiday!
  • cyber_space_cadet
I played that game with my Mom, too. :)
    Merry Christmas!

Our kids played that game, too. In fact, our local news station 'tracks' Santa's progress on radar on Christmas Eve, and we'd watch that. It sure was fun to have Reegan here; thanks for sending her to us!! My dad, in particular, was overjoyed!

We do the same thing here. We did the cookie thing and C was SO excited that they got eaten!!!

Ha! Scott has a big family, too, so between our family and his we can't go anywhere without knowing someone. :) I guess y'all are going to the same church as Deborah and Jamie?

DESTRUCTION

Our brand new (to us) house has:

NO carpet
NO trim
NO baseboards
NO light fixtures
NO closet doors
NO stair railing
NO outlet covers
NO overgrown nasty ivy
NO wallpaper (well, as of tomorrow hopefully)

The more old disgusting stuff we rip out, the better our house looks! It's amazing people lived in this house. I would rather live there the way we have it now than the way they were living there. SO MUCH DUST!!!

We are about to begin the fun part--putting the house back together!
  • mandyhayes1
You've got your own Extreme Home Makeover show :o) Fun!

Sounds like lots of fun! Make sure you let Reegan help a little bit. :)

Reegan thought it was so much fun to rip the carpet. Well, until we took it out of her room--she said she likes green, so wanted to keep the green carpet. Ummmm....NO!
She is enjoying destroying the house with us, but she is absolutely LOVING playing in the back yard while we work!

So, are you resisting the urge to grab a large hammer and start bashing in walls?
    by mladyman at 11/07/09 10:06PM
  • nolongerwise
There is one wall that I want to take out, but Ryan is making me wait on that. I thought about "accidently" putting a huge hole in it. Then it would look bad enough we would have to fix it sooner. But then I realized that it wouldn't get done sooner, I would just have a hole in my kitchen wall for a long time.

My nephew was like that in soccer. He was still a really good player, but the coach told my sister that if Matt ever developed some aggression, he'd be downright amazing.
