Please pray!

Houston Congressman Pete Olson had emergency heart surgery in Washington, D.C. Thursday.

Olson was rushed to George Washington University Hospital after he fainted at the House gym, according to a spokesperson.

Doctors determined the fainting episode was caused by a slow heartbeat, or bradycardia.

“This morning, Congressman Olson had a dual-chamber pacemaker implanted which will continue to regulate his heartbeat. The procedure went smoothly with no complications,” said Allen Solomon, MD, cardiologist at the George Washington University Hospital and Professor of Medicine. “This is a common, often asymptomatic, condition and we expect the Congressman to resume his active lifestyle.”

The Republican was reportedly awake and joking with the hospital staff a few hours after the surgery and is said to be anxious to get back to work.

"Olson is very grateful for all of the well wishes and prayers he has received from family, friends, and his colleagues on the Hill," a statement said.

Congressman Olson return home to Texas Friday to spend the weekend with his family and will return to Washington next week for scheduled legislative business.

Guys, please remember to keep Congressman Olson in your prayers! He is a good friend of mine, so this is very upsetting to me. This has already been a hectic day for me, but I was NOT expecting this. Please pray that he becomes better soon! Also, please remember his wife and two kids in your prayers. I know they're worried for his safety as well.

(And then, I would probably draw a squiggly picture of a penguin or ninja or something, so pretend that's here too) : )

Sarah, will you please pass on this word to Bethany--little Nathan passed away about noon today. He is released from suffering, and is in the wonderful hands of God. Bethany was so good to ask me about him at every service. I appreciated her.

I'm trying to find a place online where I can download music (affordably). So far I have a few ideas, but I was wondering if y'all knew of any good sites for downloading music. Any ideas? Thanks! :)

I don't know what you find affordably, but I think it's 99 cents for each song.

One thing you can do is buy a Zune pass. For 15 dollars a month, you have access to all of Microsoft's music library to listen on demand, along with being able to keep 10 songs per month. It is a really good deal.

i download music from napster..... it is 99 cents... im not sure but i can maybe find out how much iTunes is....

iTunes is 99¢ a song usually...unless you buy the whole album (then it might be a little cheaper...still adds up though)

you could also listen to music and create a playlist for free at imeem.com . you can't download, but you can listen to pretty much anything you want whenever. and you can post songs by embedding them on your blogs :)

Recently a friend and I got into a discussion, and I wanted to know your opinion because I'm not sure what I believe concerning this.

He believs that marijuana (and other drugs that "aren't dangerous") should be legalized. I have heard some excellent arguments on both sides of this issue and I want to know what you think. Are you for legalizing drugs? If so, why? And what kind of drugs would you say should be legalized? And should the federal government legalize the drugs? Does that take away our freedom?

I may question your comments but that's not because I agree or disagree. If you believe something but don't know why you believe it then it's the same as not believing it. And that is why I shall probably question what you say. :)

===============================================================

1) If you comment, please don't just spit off some cliche about how awful drugs are, etc, etc... I want to know WHY you believe what you do. I will probably delete comments that go nowhere.

2) I can clarify anything that you want me to. Just ask. :)

3) This post is just for people who are discussing the above topic. If you would like to comment about something different on my blog, go to the post below this one. I will delete your comments if you give me an unrelated comment on this post. :)

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

    M. is an introductory drug. - student I taught in an informative speech based upon experience.

I am against legalization on more levels than just what the bible teachs.

Thought: if M. was legalized, who would be the suppliers? Wouldn't it still be the ones who are killing whole towns in Mexico right now...wow. That is NOT a market I would want to strengthen.

Those are great thoughts, Keefe! Thanks for your input. Yes, I'm aware that marijuana is an introductory drug. It seems like legalizing it would actually *ask* for people to try to experiment with the drugs that we HAVEN'T legalized. Hmmm. Now what do you mean when you say, "I am against legalization on more levels than just what the bible teaches"?

How nice of them to confirm what we already know!

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But,
under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the
socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation,
without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need
to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The
Democrat Party has adopted our platform."

-Norman Thomas, Socialist Party Candidate for President, 1944

Thanks...and that is so true. If you slowly change policies over people will begin to believe and do what you say even if it is something they would have originally hated. Hopefully things will turn out well.

Thanks! Yeah, Emily loves to do makeovers! It would be awesome if we could get y'all two together sometime! Maybe next time we come down, we can bring her. Well, it was fun to be fussed over, and we got to be silly too. I don't like taking really formal and serious pictures. Too stuffy! :)

Soooo. Guess what Obama's up to now? He's going to change the way that the Census is done. What's wrong with that? Well, he's going to move it to the White House so nobody can double check and see if they made a mistake in counting (ie, "guesstimating"). In other words.....

If you still don't understand why this may be a bad thing then, no offense meant, but you're just so insanely STUPID that you deserve everything this guy is doing.

This doesn't have anything to do with the Census. It's just something I found. It's about Healthcare this time....
