Afer a sleepless night, my family and i were on our way to Nashville Airport. we flew for an hr to the Chicago Airport on a tiny plane with 2 seats on both sides of the plane. Terbulance was horrible and not to mention i really had to use the restroom...that was no help at all. we arrived in chicago and had a 7hr wait till the next flight. We ate lunch and slept on the airport's floor knowing that we probably would not get much sleep on the plane ride to Germany. The plane was (i think) a 767 with 2 seats on both sides and 3 or 4 in the middle. Ater 10 hrs of bearly any sleep we arrived in Frankford, Germany. Keep in mind it was night when we left and it is now day time here and we cant go to sleep until it is night in Germany so we don't end up with major jet lag. we have rented a camper so we can combine the cost of hotel cost and car rental cost into one. We went to go pick up the camper...that took forever (i feel asleep on the couch they had in there. i'm sorry but if you expect a person with jet lag to set though a boaring move about how to run the camper and NOT fall asleep...YOUR CARZY!!! After we got the camper we had our 1st german experiance with a German grocery store. All the grocery carts were chained together so you a to pay a euro to get one BUT when you put it back afer you were finished it gave you back the euro! it took about an hour to buy all that we needed EVEN with our pathetic german tranlation book. We then attempted several times to leave Frankford and that's when we decoverd that getting lost everywhere we went was going to have to be an understatemant on this trip! we finnaly got out of the city and went to Heidelburg. we camped right beside the Rein River. that night when we went to go take showers, we had a bit of a issue. First, after getting completly ready to hop into the shower we dicover that there is no water. i look outside my stall and see that there are boxes for tokens for the water. while i was waiting for my mom to come back with the tokens, a man walks right into the women's restrooms!!! After he saw me in a towel he walked out...ick! mom came back with the tokens and gave me one. not knowing that the water was only 30 liters, i use all the water and was left standing all soaped up in the stalls. mom now has to finish up with just a trickle and givwe me that other token that she had. 0.in the mean time two german women walk in and are taking up a storm in the shower area. when mom walked out of her stall with crazy hair, the to women stoped in mid-conversation and watched mom walk across the room to give me the extra token for my water. Later, when mom thought that they had left, she stuck her head out to see if they were gone. she motioned as to ask if she was waiting on that particular stall. (there were three empty stalls left but the ones that mom and i were in had outside doors) the woman said, "ja" as if to say "well, dua!" That was the inside joke for the entir trip. The next day we were schedualed to take a Rein River tour and we almost missed it! we had to take 2 buses and a taxi to get to our pick up point. the 2nd bus dropped us off in the middle of nowhere (all we could see were fields and some buildings in the distance). Luckaly we saw a taxi at the entersection and practaly ran out into the middle of the street to catch it. we got to the bus right on time...God was really looking out for us. We saw about 20 or so castles and were able to tour one. For the next few days we made our way down the west side of Germany stopping at small towns here and there. Then we drove into Switzerland. The town we stopped at had just had a pretty good snow the night before, the first time in 20yrs it had snowed that late!!! The next day we went to the Top of Europe, the heighest pt of elevation above sea leval in the Alpes. Beautiful...that's all i can say...it's just beautiful! 11,735ft (i think that's how high it was). The next day it was beginning to melt so we got to see the glaciers falling down the moutain. A crack that sounds like thounder and then you look around and see what looks like a waterfall then it stopes as soon as it begun! it was so kool!! We stayed in Switz for a couple of days and then went to Austria. We got to see the gazebo that they used in the Sound of Music and i touched the handle that Julie Andrews touched!!! We then began to make our way back up the east side of Germany. We went to the Eagle's Nest, Hitler's hide out, and we got to tour his personal bunker. We, then, went to Dachau Consentration Camp Memorial (the only one left in Germany). Germany tried to cover up what had happened in the Holicaust and tryied to destroy every concentration camp. The Americans got a hold of Dachau before it was destroyed and the Citicens and family members of Dachua prisoners wanted to keep their memory alive. Every step you take on that desolate ground you cant help to think of all the blood that was shed there. We also went into the Gas chamber and Crematorium ...hollow and empty is all you can feel. Dachau was only ment to hold 6,000 people but by the end of the war 32,000 people were cramed into the tiny space. Starvation and desaese is what killed most of them, even afer they were relased. it was a terrible thing and it should never be forgotten. Next, we went to King Ludwig's castles, including Naushawstein (Fairy Tail castel). this castle was never finished and King ludwig spent only 3mths in this castle before his mysterious death...drowing. This would not make sence if it was just and accident because it was said he was an excelant swimmer? Who knows? By then we were castled out. we did drive down the Romantic Road and passed plently of crazy fast drivers that shook the camper on the Autoban (Autoban=intersate). Oh and we did run up on some of our family at the end of the trip BUT they couldn't speak a word of English but could read a little so we were able to show them were we fit on the family tree. All in All it was a wonderful trip and everyting worked out perfectly...i can thank God for that!
PS. You're a A-we-some person if you read all this but if anyone ask me how my trip went i'll make you read it:) j/k

cough cough! My socail life is about to starve to death. Soccer and Alex is all that is keeping it alive. btw...GO GIRLS SOCCER TEAM!!! ummm...a plastic bag a plastic bag! Oh sry ADD moment. ooo...i have a question...ok by law "No Child Left Behind" I am allowed to have more time on a test if i need it (the perfectionism is not all the time slowing me down on test). So, when a teacher gives a test that a normal student can finish in one class period and i don't should i ask the teacher for more time and if they say no, what do i do???
