I am on a sandbar in a tent in the middle of the Brazos river in August sweating on top of a vinyl sleeping bag, typing on a blackberry with no signal while I use my children's underwear for a pillow, thinking what a privilege it is to spend this time with my boys who fell asleep in these same conditions in a matter of seconds and will wake up in the morning refreshed and ready for some serious dude time. Oh the lengths to which men go to tie strings with their boys.
We had a big time today. Several cliff jumping escapades. rapids. Swimming. Fishing. And the always popular FIRE. Doesn't much matter what's for dinner if there is fire.
See you tommorrow. Have my sleep number bed tuned up and an appointment to the chiropractor scheduled.
Love you big.
Did I mention the racoon that I have been listening to for the last few hours trying to find a way into our food? He is NO match for cunning of this human.
I'm LOVIN' the rain. It makes the new leaves on the trees look almost fluorescent. We've got tons of flowers (aka weeds) around the house. Spring is awesome!
I STILL DON'T HAVE INTERNET ACCESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at mom's right now. Once again I've gorged. What is it about this place? Thankfully her scale is off about five pounds so I feel pretty good about the whole thing. You can actually eat yourself sick and still lose a couple. What a deal.
"Titus, what would you like for your birthday?"
"Roofing stuff, paint (just not black, white or grey, please) and stuff to make walls."
"What are you going to do with it?"
"Build a house."
-----------
Bet he'd finish his faster than we'll finish ours.
