Earning the reputation as a space cadet...
So:
My husband and I decided a week in advance to go climb a 14er. For those of you who are not aware of what that is it is a very tall mountain, 14,000 feet in elevation. We decided to climb this mountain without any prior training. We do not excercise on a regular basis by any stretch of the imagination. So we are quite out of shape. Anyway, we did it. We climbed that sucker. It took us 7 hours round trip and many, many stops along the way, but we did it. We reached 14,086 feet into the atmosphere. We were on top of the world peering down over all these other "little" mountains. They, of course, are not small, but few reach the 14,000 feet we were at. We felt on top of the world! It was great. We decided that would withold taking pictures until we reached the top because we would need to concentrate on making it and that would take all of our energy. So we got out our camera when we reached the top to try and capture the beauty we were seeing and...NOPE, we forgot the memory card!!!!! Space cadet example #1. Also, on another note. For those of you who are not familiar with Colorado or basic math: 14,000 feet means that you are almost 3 miles closer to the sun than in say Nashville, TN. For a fair skinned, red-head that is dangerous. Knowing this, I still forgot the sunscreen. Yes, raccoon eyes took on a whole new meaning!!!! Space cadet example #2!
Space cadet #3-Getting on the north bound train instead of the southbound train when leaving Taste of Colorado in downtown Denver. Yeah, that wasn't smart. Ended up in a not so good part of town for a while.
Space cadet #4-Forgot the memory card when going on our Mt Rushmore trip
Enough said.

I'm surprised you actually made it to the top instead of getting lost. Congrats on joining the club, only 53 more to go in the state. -
:) I love you! Sounds like quite an adventure! -
Love this! Yeah, Ryan did the same thing and forgot to put on sunscreen--I think his whole face peeled off. And I think I might have told you that story..... I can't believe you did that without training; Ryan had been training a while and he still got elevation sickness part of the way up. That is quite a feat! -
Btw, isn't it nice to write "My husband and I." :) I love you so much and I hate I have not been able to to talk when you have called. Back home now and looking forward to talking with you! -
wow! how fun. -
So... how've you been? I need to call you sometime to catch up... maybe sometime this week? -
