So today, the dare is to give up something you know is unhealthy for you and tell someone about it. Something that has been kinda bugging me at times and I know isn't the best thing ever for me is secular music. Music is such a huge industry and I always turn on the radio in my car to just chill out between school and work or home. I was using something other than God to relax me and to fill a space that it shouldn't have been able to touch. Something I am going to work towards is getting rid of the songs I have on my itunes that shouldn't be there. It's going to be hard because I paid for them and I don't just want to have spent that money and then have it wasted. Honestly, that's how I feel though. That all the time and "stuff" I have given to secular music is such a waste and I could have spent that money and that time much more wisely. So hopefully, with all of your accountability and God's help I will be able to step forward and not look back.
Also, tonight... When Pastor Shane was speaking he was talking about being fresh and renewed. He gave the example of bananas. I personally do NOT like bananas and so an idea I got for a poem just kinda stuck with me and I thought maybe you all would like it too..
"Fresh"
When you say the word fresh,
You can't just say: Fresh.
That makes the word not sound so fresh.
You have to say "Fressshhh" and let it linger.
Fresh is like spritzer of grapefruit, orange, and lime.
Water is bland with out a squirt of lemon to make it fresh.
Fresh is like stepping out of a shower, warm and clean.
You feel fresh and new; ready, empowered and enabled.
Fresh is like spring wet dew,
It kisses your feet as you walk barefoot on grass.
It's like summer rain on a sweltering day.
It falls down on your face - and refreshes you.
As you think about these things,
Next time you say "Fresh."
Think about how you say it,
And why you say it that way.

The worst thing EVER is starting Spring Break with tonsilitis. It doesn't make me very happy but I guess I just have to deal with it!

So, over New Year's, I colored my hair...
And THIS is how I want to color it now...
But so far, I haven't been able to convince very many people that this would be a good color on me... I really like it and I'm pretty sure that I know myself better than anyone else so I am waiting until I can afford to do it professionally and then I am going to go get it done this color...
So... life is going really well... there hasn't really been any major crisis or anything... it's all going pretty superb!
