Wonderful Grandkids!!

I had a great time in Louisville with my precious grandkids!!

Jackson is so handsome and it's fun to watch him take in his new world! I'm sorry he caught a cold already and we pray he will make it through this episode with no secondary effects. So far he has no fever, but his stuffy head and cough make him sound so pitiful. The drainage is making him spit up and one morning he did a job on my bedspread. I mop it up with a burp rag and Murphy finished up the cleanup! :) Later, I realized my back was cool and saw that it was covered too! He is so strong in his legs and when you change him it's a challenge to work with his legs drawn up like he will jump three feet high or stiff as a board where he rocks all over the changing table. Won't be long and those legs will be crawling him all over the house!!

Kaelyn is learning so many new things and she's learning many new words. When she busted her lip after falling, we gave her a popsicle. Her version of the word was something like "popsilolallollallollal". She can now say, "Mammaw" and "Pappaw" and "Ryan"!! Dora yogurt is a favorite of hers and when she found it in the grocery sack she was sooo excited!! Three times she expressed her excitement like it was the first time she saw it!! At church services on Sunday, her grandpa John was making announcements and she couldn't see him because her vision was blocked. Many in the auditorium heard her say, "Poppi!!" when she recognized his voice. Her grandma Frani is teaching her colors with M&M's so that a real treat, too! You know how Grandma's are so proud of their grandkids, so I could go on and on and on and on, but I'll stop for now!! :)

I LOVE hearing you talk about them and am glad you got to go and see them and feel them and...smell them! lol! I hope Jackson gets through this first bout with a cold real soon.

I was so disappointed when I realized I was going to miss you. I thought you would be here this week. I haven't seen Jackson yet. He was at home and Frani stayed with him so S. could come to church. Grandkids are a special part of our lives and we have earned being able to spoil them and send them home. :-) I didn't do that because I knew I would pay for it. Glad your trip was so much fun.

Enjoying the Sunshine and Sharing Good Times with Friends

It's a gorgeous day in Alvin!! The sun started coming out yesterday and today we have wonderful blue skies and mild temps! What a lift it gives the spirits!!

This morning I attended a baby shower brunch for Missy Locklear. Good times were had by all! Baby things are sooo cute!! Also, the goodies were yummy. Christian friends are such a blessing!!

This evening we're going to supper with dear friends who recently moved into a new home. They're looking forward to opening their home up to friends and we will be blessed by their hospitality!!

Hope you have enjoyed your Saturday, too!!

Yes, ma'am, it's the one with pudding. My friend came by with another starter, so hopefully I'll get to bake when we get back from Seminole! Jady said he'd keep mushing the bag for me. :-)

Names for the Grandparents!!

Kaelyn is learning so many words right now and our names for the time being are "Papi" and "Mami"!! I love it! They will probably eventually become "Mamaw" and "Papaw", but for now we have a wonderful Kaelyn version. We were in KY for a week, so we really enjoyed our times with Kaelyn, and her mom and dad. Being a grandparent is a wonderful experience and we're so glad to see her learning and growing!! It is so encouraging to see your children raise their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord!!

Mami, you make a super Mamaw!!

Just because you won't see "Papi" or "Mami" on coffee mugs or picture frames, you should hang on to them. They're her adorableness. Glad you had such a great time, and back home safely. Talk soon?

Don't count on the names changing. Iwanted to be called Mamaw and Ashlye decided it would be memaw and it stuck with all of them. Now Stan got Popaw. I really don't care as long as they love me. Glad you had a good time but sorry we missed you.
