The Rapid City teenager who died in a weekend crash is 16-year-old Shelby Brickhouse. She died Saturday when the car she was riding in rolled on 225th Street, east of Box Elder. Another teenager suffered serious injuries. The South Dakota Highway Patrol says the teens were speeding.
Initial reports said the teens were not wearing seatbelts but the Highway Patrol says both were wearing them at the time of the crash.
Her funeral was today and it was very sad. Open casket and all.. She was buried in her cheer uniform and with her favorite stuffed bunny rabbit. Please keep all her family and friends in your prayers. They could really use the prayers.
She was only 16 and was a very caring girl. She was always outgoing in choir and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a very beautiful girl with a lovely singing voice. She touched so many people lives and we will all miss her dearly..
R.I.P Shelby. We love you!
So sad! My mom was telling me about it on the phone the other day! Another solemn reminder of how precious life is and how it can be taken from us in an instant! Hugs to you sweetie as you cope w/ the loss! Prayers are w/ the family and the friends left behind!
This is so sad, Kris - I will pray for the family. If her grandfather goes by his middle name (Ray) instead of the first name listed (Albert), he visited the church there several times when we lived in Rapid. I sure hope you're doing okay; I remember what a shock it is to lose a friend who is your age, when you are so young.
So I finally decided to update on my trip to Chicago. It was so much fun and I made so many friends on the trip! We went to many different places like the Sears Tower (or whatever it is called these days!) We went to Wheaton College for a private master class with a musical professor. He was sorta nice. We sung 3 songs for him. They were Resonet, Blow The Trumpet, and Rockin' Jerusalem. We went on a boat ride from the river to Lake Michigan. It was so cold out!! Haha. We went to a science museum, a symphonic band concert at Wheaton College, and went shopping on the Magnificent Mile! It was a lot of fun! There are some creepers in Chicago though, I won't lie. We went to the Navy Pier and ate there too. I'll share just a couple pics with you in my post and the rest will be in one of my galleries..
(I'm the second one in on the left in the top row by the way!)
It might take me a bit longer to get all the other pictures uploaded. I will try to get them uploaded sometime this week. Hope ya'll have a great week!!(:
