Simply Blessed

It's December and I can barely recollect when that happened.

If I knew where this year went I would tell you but all I know is that this year has been so...
...unexpected
...beneficial
...just what I needed at times
...nothing that I wanted at other times
...much more than I could have hoped for across the board!

I've been here, there, and all over.

I have met new friends and been reacquainted with old friends an hundred-fold.

I have learned so much about the goodness of others that I could not have imagined.

And now as I find myself in the midst of another holiday season I am in awe of the abundant blessings that fill my life.

Praise God, eh?!

I definitely wasn't expecting to say all that this evening but it feels good to get it out!

You should try it... you just might like it, too!

I hope all is well with all!
~Lauren

Hi Lauren ... remember me? We met in a living room in the DC area this past summer. I'm Amber Raif's mom. Sounds like you are doing well. Blessings to you!

Question:

Does anyone know anyone that lives in the DC area that...
~may need a roommate come the new year?
~may have a room for rent?
Or
~might not mind if a single, respectful, nice, Christian female (who'd be willing to split costs) crashed at their pad for a bit till she found a place of her own?

"For the times they are a-changin"

Nothing is set in stone yet but once the ball starts rolling I think it'll roll pretty fast.

So, anybody know of anyone? Anybody? Bueller?
  • diminished_seventh
Wait...so are you going to NY or DC? Or both (somehow)?
    by diminished_seventh at 12/11/08 3:01PM

Talk to her...she lives in the Fairfax/Centreville side of D.C.

posting a want add on craigslist works great. describe what you're looking for and set your price. people will contact you and you can pick the best option. that's how i found a place out here and it worked out great

HEHE, love the Ferris line. We use that one quite a bit around here. ;-)

Don't think I know any Christians in DC area. Have a REALLY nice girlfriend who lives down in VA, but I'm not sure if it's close enough to DC. She is my oldest (living) friend from grade school. I'll double check where she lives in proximity to DC and ask if she is interested (if she's close enough).

my aunt and uncle live there. they have a whole downstairs basement that is very livable I hear. If you are interested, gimme a call.

Both my friend and another friend of hers are possible options. Let me know if you want me to give you my friend's email information, etc. (They're not right in DC, though. My friend's friend is apparently the closer of the two.)

It makes me giggle. Is that bad?

Well, maybe not so much giggle as smile but I wanted to use that quote.

Fall weather.

Reading Twilight again for the 3rd time.

Getting my ticket to see Twilight.

Deciding to move to New York with my parents next summer.

New congregations that love the Lord and that are earnestly seeking to do what is right in His sight.

Jane Austen.

30% off shirts that are already cheap.

Gas for $1.98/gallon.

Remembering great lines from great movies: "I had a, a heart... a heart warming dream about you!"

Awesome gospel meetings.

Cute hats, scarfs, socks, etc.

Friends that finish your sentences.

Mothers (my mother).

New puppies (well, new to me).

Holidays.

Family at the holidays.

And many more things.

What made you smile today?

  • belle
You got a puppy?! What kind? I've only been up for an hour...but so far I smiled that I still had some hot apple cider left, after panicking that I had run out! :)

Simply Agast!

So as I clicked just "one more time" while browsing this evening I came across this startling reality.

Is it life altering? No.
Will any of you care or know what I'm talking about? Perhaps not.
Do I still feel compelled to send this information out to be heard so that I feel better? Yes.

While watching the beloved show, Project Runway, viewers are led to believe that only 3 (sometimes 4) of the original designers are allowed to present @ NY's fashion week, the reality is that 6 of the designers are allowed to show. That's a BIG difference. I could go into how much of a difference that is... but if you watch the show you'll understand how crazy that is and if you don't watch the show the details will only bore you.

So I shall leave it at that and retire for the evening.

But isn't that crazy?!
  • little_momma
I have never watched Project Runway before. It was so good to see you Saturday night!
