Carolina

I'm starting to like Carolina winters. Well, until the snowstorm came last weekend. It really wasn't that bad but everyone down here was kind of freaking out. I even made it to the UVA game Sunday night. UNC is bad and got blown out but at least I got to move down to the lower arena of the Dean Dome.

So far I've only got to watch 2 high school games but I did get to see CJ Leslie and Word of God Academy play.

We are in Luke 11 on our bi-weekly bible study at my house. That has been going well and I always look forward to those studies.

Due to the weather services were cancelled Sunday but we had a short service at Candace/Kendra's place and that was uplifting to be able to do that.

Things are going well, it will be 6 weeks until my next vacation but that will be a fun trip to KY for the sweet 16. Duke plays at UNC Wednesday at 9pm. I'm looking forward to that one. Been reading some books about the rivalry between the two schools.

Board game night has been moved to Tuesday's now so we will see how that works in Carrboro.

I now have internet and DVR, don't know how I managed so long down here withou either. I've been here over 10 months and really like it.

Countdown to Hilton Head Island

The countdown to Hilton Head is on. I'm looking forward to a little R&R in South Carolina in five days. The plan is for about 20 of us to share a house. My goals for the weekend are pretty simple.... A little golf, a little tennis, a lot of time at the pool reading college football material, maybe a little NCAA '10 Play Station College Football, a lot of board and card games, some bike riding, working out, eating out, and hanging out with family.

North Carolina is treating me good so far. My cooking lessons are great and we have a great time getting together for games.

Walnut Street allowed me to teach bible class a few weeks ago and I taught Romans 6. I was very grateful for the oppurtunity.

I'm going to try and pick up some tickets to North Carolina v Miami and FSU games. I also want to make it to Columbia, SC for the UK game and to Lex for the U of L or Bama games.

At game night in Carrboro we played Dominion last week. I liked the game.

I bought a digital piano off Craigslist. I've been trying to learn "She Drives Me Crazy". Mom is bringing some piano books down from KY to Hilton Head.

For the first time in a while I wouldn't mind some cooler weather. The fall should be nice and it will be better knowing a KY winter isn't coming.

3 months in NC

Today marks the 3 month anniversary of my time in Chapel Hill. I really like it down here. Great job at UNC. Everything has been going well from the church, to my friends down here, to game nights, to baseball games, to bible studies.

We have started a bible study club on campus at UNC that I'm excited about. It is set to start in the fall.

I'm looking forward to my Hilton Head trip next month. If I could only do something about my golf swing.

I've been getting allergy shots for 9 months or so and they seem to be working okay, a zyrtec every night is a must.

So I lost 15 pounds last summer and I've gained it right back after my move. My goal is to lose the 15 again. It's kind of frustrating because I have been running 1.5 to 2 miles a day fairly often (4 days a week or so) and eating a little better. I guess I really gotta watch what I eat and the cut out even diet pop.

I'm looking forward to UK basketball (John Wall) and UK football (Trevard Lindley) seasons. Also I hope to go watch UNC football and get season bball tickets. I hope to return to KY for a few Saturday's this fall and also watch the Cats play in Columbia.

So far so good in NC, the Lord has blessed me with the Big 4 (Good church, good job, good place to live, and (relatively) good health.

Sweet 16 coming up

There has sure been some crazy weather recently. A lot of the region basketball games had to be pushed back. Clark and I watched Mason beat GRC and Montgomery beat Scott. We also watched part of the Bryan Station win over Dunbar and the Lex Cath win over Scott County. The sweet 16 will be tipping off in 4 days at Rupp and I'm taking off work Wed, Thu, and Friday. I hate to say it but Lex Cath looks unstoppable and Mason seems to be in an easy bracket so it is looking like a dreaded Lex Cath/ Mason Co. final. Oh well.

It seems like I have been going from the doctor to the dentist back to the doctor. I have had two rounds of blood work done because I have been really tired and run down. This last round has centered on tests of my liver. I should get the results back in 2 weeks.

I haven't been doing a lot recently. Hopefully I will have a good spring and summer.

Also UK lost to UGA today after some bad luck, bad karma, and bad calls. I mean they were supposed to tip off last night but a tornado pushed the SEC back a day and to Georgia Tech where they only allowed in 1,000 fans. It has been a crazy day for them. I still think they will make the tournament.

It has been kind of a slow weekend. Also I am being patient when it comes to dating. I will see what developes.

I am in tax, we are definitely in full swing, I am really missing the days of just preparing versus all the Supervising, it's quite overwhelming.

I attend at Bellaire. What's your brothers name? Maybe I know him too which would confirm that it's a really small world, haha.

    Good Luck with everything!

March Madness

Okay, it's been over 2 years since I've updated. I got to reading my old entries and I figured in 2 more years I would like to read about what was going on in 2008.

Some changes in my life since then are:

1. I'm a CPA, passed all 4 parts on the first time.
2. I work for ARH (Appalachian Regional Hospital), I've worked here for nearly 19 months (can you believe it). I am told I will get a 15% raise in April due to my move from accounting to reimbursment (I'll believe it when I see it!)

I've got to give some credit to the UK football team. I was present for the wins agaisnt U of L and LSU and the valiant effort agaisnt UT (we will get them next year). What a season to be a tickeholder in Commonweatlth Stadium! Dad and I also went down to Vanderbilt to watch the football game. It was a blast. Last year I went to the Music City Bowl but not this year, I watched that one on TV.

Right now everything is going well for me. Work is okay, church at East End is good, the weather is getting a little warmer. The only thing is that I have had some blood tests because I've been pretty tired and lacked energy so from what he said I think I may have too much iron in my blood. I should have more tests in about 2 weeks. I don't think it is just work that has me tired I think it may be something else. It's not a huge deal but hopefully he will find out something.

I went to a rodeo Saturday. My first one ever that was pretty cool.

Will right back soon. Pray for me.

Congratulations on passing THE exam on the first try!!! I bet that felt really good. And congrats on the job with ARH...I'm still in public accounting, although not with BKD. We'll see how that continues to go :-)

Hope your health improves...and you should come to Houston for the Largest Indoor Rodeo in the world...it's awesome. It started last week and ends in a month or so.

Thanks, are you in tax or audit? I don't think this little rodeo was anything like the one in Houston, lol. My brother was down in Houston last summer, I think he was a Deer Park. What church do you go to? I bet we know some of the same people
