It's Time

Blessings of my day today:

-One of my students telling me, "GOOD JOB, Miss Rabren!" when I did something she liked :)

-One of my students telling me, "Miss Rabren, you can always be a better person tomorrow than you were today." (Yes, it is a sign posted in my room that they see every day, but hey, at least it is in his head now!)

-Laughing

-Singing night tonight at church services. I needed that!

-Drinking homemade hot chocolate from my "Somebody loves me at Auburn" mug (given to me by sweet Amy.. I no longer remember how to link on here... but I miss you Amy!) It's nice to be reminded of sweet friends and wonderful memories every time you see a certain object.

-Knowing chances are looking good for Tommy Tuberville to be our next head coach. I would be so excited!!

-And most importantly... I will sum it up with the words from one of my favorite songs: "Praise the Lord! I am forgiven! And my Father up in heaven knows and hears and will be with me; Praise the Lord! I am His child!"

We, also, had singing night. I like the encouragement your students gave you. Good job, Teach!

Nice. Why does the name "Tommy Tubberville" just make me to chuckle a bit?

That is one of my favorites as well. I like your list of blessings too. Sometimes the simplest things can mean the most.

Laura's reports came back today and they showed no signs of cancer in the tissue or lymph nodes!!! She will still be doing 6 weeks of radiation, but it shouldn't be nearly as hard on her as the chemo was. Thanks for all the prayers for her over the past year, and be sure to say a prayer of thanks for this wonderful news!!!
  • scottishstar7
I'm so happy to hear this! Tell Laura I'm still keeping her in my prayers and keeping my fingers crossed that things continue to go well for her. Give her a hug for me next time you see her!

Guess we ought to be sure that you'll still be there! We're talking either Tuesday or Wednesday 12/15 or 12/16.

Thanks! I think our best bet is going to be to head past Albuquerque for Prescott, AZ. There's a congregation there that looks promising, and there's a hotel close by so we can just camp out there after services for the night. We'll probably have to head out fairly early Wednesday morning, but I figured that would also get us out of your hair since you'll be working. What time will you be leaving your house on Wednesday? Sorry to make it such a short visit.
    by jlmanager at 12/08/09 8:51PM
  • jlmanager
Actually, that should work out perfectly. We need to get on the road by then in order to be on time for services in Arizona. Again, just sorry it's going to be so short, although I guess we'll be seeing you in Brazoria as well.

Going Private

I'm in the process of going through all my old entries and making everything private. From here on out, all of my blogs will be private.

You'll have to be on my friends list in order to read my entries, so if you're not already on my friends list and would like to be, send me a message.

Thanks :)
  • darleen21
We must be on at the same time:)

The first couple of days went well. But I've got a lot to learn; so many different requirements in school than anywhere else I could work. And at the school I'm at two days a week, the majority of the kids are very low functioning as far as speech and language go, so that's a big adjustment. But I'm very excited about the whole experience!

Yep, I don't do all of my blogs private, but most of them, particularly that have personal info. There's a bit of a difference between seeing an alligator from the vantage of a car versus having your foot within a foot of it, even if it is a baby.

My fiance will be working with the Milwaukee Ave. church. I have a job interview with LISD on June 5. There is a woman at the church who is an assistant principal who has offered to spread my name around. I currently teach 3rd, but I'm hoping to go down to 2nd. I'll let you know if I need help/advice :) And Amy lived with me while she was in Tampa for about 5 months.
