I am still here.
(applause)
I have successfully survived the onslaught of summer school 2009, and am anxiously awaiting the coming of TEXAS CAMP.
It shall be awesome.
In other news, happy 2009 (7 months late)... So far 2009 has been good to me. I'm at home in Fort Worth for the summer. I spent the first part of the year down in Beaumont, TX. It has been a wonderful experience for me so far. I've learned a lot about who God needs me to be and I feel like I've grown by leaps and bounds spiritually.
If you have never been to Beaumont, I would not suggest it (since it is quite ugly) unless you are looking for a great church to worship with. The people of the Dowlen Road church in Beaumont are a wonderful and hardworking group of God's people.
In my time down there I have begun preaching and teaching which I never thought would be possible for because I have terrible nerves when it comes to public speaking. But with a lot of help and encouragement from friends and family, and strength from the Lord, I have been able to help in doing the Lord's work down in SE Texas.
I have toyed with the thought of full time preaching for quite some time, but it has never been a reality to me until recently. I'm not saying that I will definitely be pursuing a career as a full time preacher, but with the little experience that I have, and the understaning of the talents that the Lord has given me, I think that it would not be too far fetched for that to be a possible path for me. In any case, your prayers in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
Anyways, I came home from Beaumont in late May after finishing my second semester at Lamar University. (In case you were wondering, yes I am officially a senior now) The school is much different than A&M but it has been a place where I feel like I am able to study and learn and be successful. I'm studying business marketing and I love it. It's a very exciting field with lots of opportunities AND I get to make lots of cool power point presentations, which are probably my favorite thing in the world to do. If you hear of any job openings for a professional power point maker -- you know where to find me.
I feel like I could rant on this thing forever, but I will spare my cyber audience the boredom of my telling the tedious ins and outs of my life. I got the important stuff out anyways.
To those of you whom I haven't seem in forever, I hope to see you soon. The rest of my summer is pretty crazy, but I'll be around. If the summer doesn't work for you, feel free to visit me in Beaumont. I would like to see you. Just wait til the hurricanes are gone.
I believe this now concludes my partial semi-annual report. God bless
Daniel

I always find it interesting when I'm listening to the radio and the song that is playing just says the same thing over and over again or plays the same part of the tune over and over again and I just sing right along over and over again.
Moral of this story: Having writer's block will get you on the radio.

This is probably my last post of the year. I don't post too much anymore so I guess that's pretty irrelevant. However, I hope to make a longer post sometime in the near future to update the few that actually read long posts.
I hope everyone had a great 2008 (I figured I'd rhyme one more time since the end of the year is so very near :P)
I'm looking forward to seeing many of you at winter camp Lord willing. But for those of you who don't do winter camp hopefully our paths will cross sometime in the near future.
Have a safe and happy holidays and New Years celebrations.
